[Bug 630122] Re: [HD3670] Gnome UI becomes unresponsive after a few minutes

apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected

** Description changed:

  Ubuntu Maverick 10.10 amd64 beta
  Gnome 2.28+1ubuntu3
  Xserver-xorg 1:7.5+6ubuntu3

  System: Dell Laptop StudioXPS 1640
Graphics: AMD RadeOn Mobility HD 3670

I upgraded from lucid to maverick beta.

The Gnome UI suddenly becomes completely unresponsive to the mouse after
a while of usage, which did not happen in lucid. I can still move the
mouse and use the keyboard, and when hovering over buttons, their state
changes visually indicating that the UI still seems to read the mouse
state. However, I am unable to click any buttons or interact with the UI
  in any other way.

- I am still able to use the keyboard to get to a console (via CTRL+ALT+F1
- e.g.) and restart gdm. I am then able to use it for a while, and then
- the UI becomes unresponsive again. I am unsure, which package seems to
- fit this problem. The attached logfile has been copied about 30 seconds
- after the described behavior occured.
