Just wanted to let you all know that the updated nvidia driver is in Philip Johnsson's Extra PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~philip5/+archive/extra

I used that to install 260.19.06 in Maverick and it works like a charm, no performance regression using antialiased text anymore.
After installing just the updated nvidia packages from that PPA, disable it.
