I reinstalled "patch", which was one of the problems when installing it
first time.  (It tried to call "patch" but it wasn't installed), then
reinstalled fglrx, which went through without problems according to the
installer.  That being said, it still doesn't work right, and I've found my
self using the a pre-lynx kernel to avoid the UI freezing (mouse doesn't
move, keyboard won't respond).  Admittedly this problem might not be fglrx
related, but something completely different.
