Yes, please attach them anyway, but with radeon.modeset=1 (which is
default). I would like to see if there are detected modes that should
not be there and would give a white screen.

Your "16 colour mode" sounds like the VESA driver is being used, you can
verify that by looking at your Xorg.0.log. It will be used if you remove
the radeon package, but why it is used now I can not tell without seeing
the log, so please attach that as well.
