Few minutes ago I experienced that the jumping pointer sometimes gives difficulties on writing also with Gedit. 
So what I wrote in the previous message is not correct.
For information, my intention is to install very soon the Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick on my machine and to report here if the bug is still present
