[Bug 544339] [NEW] display causing lines to be rippled across edge of screen

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I'm using an Acer Aspire 1692wlmi with an ATi Mobility Radon X700
graphics chip that has 64MB of VRAM.

On booting Lucid today, lines have encroached on the edge of my screen,
with "ghosts" of my desktop appearing slightly to the left.

Resolution is set to 1280x1024.

I can't restart the machine right at this time, nor can I upload images
or change the resolution; (I will try to do that as soon as I can and
then update the bug accordingly).

I do apologise if I'm being vauge with information, I'm not the most
confident user of Ubuntu, so I really don't have much of a clue of the
inner workings. Sorry!

** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
