[Bug 653875] Re: Installer display is shifted a few pixels on ABIT NF7 motherboard

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xorg

  Hi-

I'm running "Try Ubuntu" off the first RC for MaverickMeerkat 10.10. (I
got the same results after a trial install of the beta.)

  - The leftmost few pixels of the display show up on the far right of my screen. They WRAP.
  - The bottom few pixels are cut off.
  - The mouse points and clicks a few pixels below and to the left of where it appears to be.
  - The first character of each status message during the textual boot process showed up on the far right of the screen, even before switching into graphics mode.

- Sorry if I'm not describing it well; I suspect the nv driver isn't
+ Sorry if I'm not describing it well; I suspect the Nouveau driver isn't
playing well with the onboard (NVidia) video of my ABIT NF7-M
motherboard. I can partly adjust my habits to compensate for the
wrapping, but the mis-targeting of the mouse makes it very hard to
  install and run the system.

I tried running 'nvidia-detector' but got the response: 'none'.

  Thanks for any help!
