[Bug 658458] Re: do-release-upgrade report error on upgrading from ubuntu 10.04 to 10.10
alessio, I think I have taken the wrong approach with this bug. Per
your initial report and what information was gathered by apport, the
nouveau package was not installed on your computer.
"...MachineType: Dell Inc. Vostro 1000
Package: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (not installed)
ProcCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.35-22-generic root=UUID=..."
I know that you said that you were able to upgrade to maverick once you
removed nouveau but perhaps the issue was something else. Can you check
"/var/log/dist-upgrade/" again and attach to this report any and all
logs located there. Also attach any Xorg files in "/var/log/"
