[Bug 665513] Re: Xorg freeze after turning screens on/off

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xorg

I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 64bit (Linux gege-laptop 2.6.35-22-generic #35-Ubuntu SMP Sat Oct 16 20:45:36 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux) on a Lenovo SL500. I have a Philips external screen attached, and normally just that screen is turned on, the laptop's built in one is turned off.
Assume I have Firefox already opened. If I go to Screen settings and turn on and then off my laptop screen (all panels are on the external monitor, so my laptop has just a plain background), then Firefox on the external screen does the following:
- If I want to change tabs by clicking to them, I see the window title changing, but the actual tabs contents are not refreshed. This happens until I minimize FF to the tray and and maximize again (also by mouse click). Then the tab contents that should have appeared earlier finally get shown.
- The similar thing happened with Netbeans and also VirtualBox (mouse clicks have effect, but window contents don't get refreshed), but now I managed to reproduce it with FF.
+ If I want to change tabs by clicking to them, I see the window title changing, but the actual tabs contents are not refreshed (similar thing is with scrolling the window). This happens until I minimize FF to the tray and and maximize again (also by mouse click). Then the tab contents that should have appeared earlier finally get shown. The same thing is reproducible with VirtualBox (screen contents don't get refreshed on actions until minimizing and maximizing), and it seems the crucial point is turning off the laptop screen (turning it on doesn't invoke the bug).
