[Bug 654178] Re: Ubuntu 10.10 wont start strange image

 

Long term ubuntu user here... same issue with nVidia GTS360M on Maverick
release.

To get your clean Maverick install booting:

In the grub boot menu edit the "recovery mode" option by hitting "e",
add "nomodeset" to the last line. Ctrl-x to boot.

At the recovery menu choose "root". Install the nvidia binary drivers by
typing: "apt-get install nvidia-current"

Reboot and enjoy an otherwise flawless install.
