People still having problems with suspend/resume may also try this
(thanks to Brian who sent me this advice)

Add the following line:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="acpi_sleep=nonvs"

to /etc/default/grub

Then make:
sudo update-grub
and reboot

Suspend/resume should work now

It worked with kernel 2.6.35 and nvidia 260.19.12 on my dell M4500
