Hi Krister,
Thanks for confirming in maverick. Use evest to test whether the exist
in kernel or not. For help on that refer to the document here
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingTouchpadDetection. After running evtest
in VT
$ evtest {input device}
Try to reproduce the bug, identify the bug and upload the log here.
** Description changed:
Binary package hint: xorg
I have an emachines m2350 and use gnome/compiz on a fresh install of
- Ubuntu 9.10.
+ Ubuntu 9.10(This bug has been confirmed in maverick see comment #3).
While moving a window with the touchpad the pointer will appear and be stuck in the top left corner of the screen.
A workaround is to use a USB mouse.

+ To reproduce the bug:
+ randomly touch the upper-left corner of the touchpad, usually within seconds, the mouse pointer jumps to X root:(0,0), i.e., the upper-left corner of screen, and trying to move the pointer is futile thereafter.
+
+ A way to workaround, hit Alt-F7 (move window), then, the pointer jumps
+ and can be moved again.
