I had the same problems after fresh Install of 10.10.

I found a solution for the problem in the opensuse forums:

I solved the problem temporarily by typing in terminal:

sudo synclient ClickFinger3=1

and for persistence over reboot added

 Option "ClickFinger3" "1"

to the InputClass in

 /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf
