[Bug 2098411] Re: All snaps are not visible to the end-user
This bug was fixed in the package lightdm - 1.32.0-6ubuntu3
---------------
lightdm (1.32.0-6ubuntu3) plucky; urgency=medium
* Cherry-pick changes from the previously-held Ubuntu delta, remaining
delta (LP: #2104169):
- debian/01_debian.conf: Remove the default greeter session, this is set
by gsettings.
- debian/02_ubuntu.conf: Add an Ubuntu-specific configuration:
+ Disable the built-in log backup mechanism in favor of logrotate, the
configuration for which is defined in debian/lightdm.logrotate.
+ Enable coredumps when running X.
+ Use lightdm-greeter-session for greeter-wrapper, as defined in
debian/lightdm-greeter-session.
+ Use lightdm-session for session-wrapper, as defined in
debian/lightdm-session (LP: #2098411).
- debian/config-error-dialog.sh: Used by lightdm-greeter-session, this
dialog alerts the user when a configuration value is invalid, instead of
simply failing.
- debian/lightdm.install: Install the aforementioned configuration files
into /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d instead of
/usr/share/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d for better visibility and
compatibility.
- debian/source_lightdm.py: Apport hook.

Bug description:
In 25.04 for several weeks, no snaps such as firefox are visible in
the menu.
snap list displays the snap
snap run firefox runs the snap, the snap itself is missing from the
menu.
checked in /var/lib/snapd/desktop/applications and all the .desktop
files are there
echo $PATH returns
/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games:/usr/local/games:/snap/bin
This is a regression from noble/oracular where snaps are visible and
work out of the box.
Other observations - in the live session, snaps are also not visible. The snap installer does not launch either - you have to double click the desktop icon to launch. Again a regression from oracular.
