You can copy your uxtheme.dll from your Vista DVD without using Ubuntu.
If you have a laptop and only own recovery disks and not a pure Vista
DVD it may be a little bit tricky.

What is your computer model and manufacturer? On some laptops Ubuntu
(still) needs some extra configuration before it boots correctly.
