[Question #76238]: USB Modem
New question #76238 on Ubuntu:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/76238
I downloaded Ubuntu 9.04 and intalled it as a second choice OS on my laptop. My modem is a Novatel (Verizon) USB760. Unfortunately for me, I need to connect to the net to install other packages that will allow me to use this modem, and I can not do that since the modem is my only way to access the net. The Ubuntu 9.04 doesn't even have WVDIAL on it, which would I could use to connect to the net hopefully with this modem.
With Linux being considered a "Networking" OS, I would expect more distros to focus on providing the user with the ability to connect to the net with the most important device...."A MODEM".
Hopefully manufacture's also will take more notice to the consumer demands for modems that work with Linux. I would appreciate some advice as to how I can approach my problem and solve it so that I can use Ubuntu as my choice OS.
SS
It looks like I am stuck using MS Windows :<
