Hi Tory,

I removed Evolution shortly after the correspondence above (a year ago)
and replaced it with Thunderbird. There were no "ill effects" following
the removal of Evolution and everything runs normally. The only down
side of this is that whenever I run Update Manager it always comes up
with updates for the now non-installed Evolution.

It is a pity that there couldn't be a 'flag' somewhere to notify Update
Manager that Evolution has been removed and that I therefore don't want
updates for it
