Question #76164 on xorg in ubuntu changed:

    Status: Open => Answered

Tom proposed the following answer:
So are you able to boot into Suse? If not then put the Ubuntu cd in the cd/dvd-drive and then reboot the machine. When you get to the option "Try Ubuntu without making changes to the machine", this should get you to a working desktop which we call a LiveCd session when it works. If you don't get to that menu then this guide should help
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootFromCD

Whether it's easier to boot into suse or ubuntu, either way get to a
command-line and type in (or copy&paste with the mouse)

sudo grub

find /boot/grub/stage1

and copy the results into here. The answers should be something like
(hd0,2) or (hd0,1) then type

quit

and we will try to work it our from there
Thanks, good luck with this
Regards from
Tom
