Sylpheed is not in Synaptic - that is why I suggested that you try Claws
Mail (installable via Add/Remove).

What other programs give you this error message?

Incredimail uses HTML and is therefore not considered secure as well as
using more resources.  Linux users use Plain Text for email and HTML can
be turned off so that your recipient may not see what you think looks
"cool".
