It might be worth adding the "Adblock Plus" plugin.  Inside firefox go
up to the menu's at the top of the page and click on

Tools - Add-ons - Get Add-ons

and use the search tool there to find and install  "Adblock Plus".  You
might be better off installing a lighter-weight we-browser such as
SeaMonkey, Galeon, Opera, BonEcho.
