Did you change any settings in your BIOS between the install?
S1, S3, S1/S3. Use the S1/S3 option.
That error could indicate that the proper module has not been loaded for your system.
If no one can provide assistance to figuring out what hardware you have and what module is needed for it, you can try submitting a bug indicating that suspend is not activated for you by default during an install.
