Please look in the "Places" menu for the "1.0 GiB Media" (or something
like that).  Does the "Places" menu have many "Media" listed?  The
"Places" menu should have

Home Folder, Desktop, Documents, Music, Pictures, Video, Network,
Connect to Server, Search for Files, Recent Documents

Does it have anything else on your machine?  Please list anything else in that menu.
