Re: [Question #76800]: This isn't a Gnome terminal problem... I had to report a bug to be able to access the internet, because both my panels are missing.
Question #76800 on Ubuntu changed:

Da CalebMan is still having a problem:
OK here's what happened a member form a forum suggested typing a
command, and the terminal said Gnome panels wasn't just disabled, it was
uninstalled!
I typed the command it listed underneath to install Gnome panels, and
after rebooting, they appeared...
I think I uninstalled it, by trying to uninstall Epiphany, and to do
that I have to go through synaptic package manager, and uninstall ALL
dependent apps. One listed was 'Ubuntu Desktop' I thought there was no
way it would install my desktop, so I continued, got rid of it, and was
done. After that however, I did a clean up using computer janitor, to
make sure all was uninstalled.
Upon reboot, an applet: OAFIID:GNOME_FastUserSwitchApplet had
malfunctioned, and Ubuntu asked me if I wanted to delete it... I said
no...
I know how to get another similar applet, by right clicking, and
selecting: 'add to panel' from the gnome panel, and an alternate
shutdown and Log in applet are listed. But not as good as the original.
How do I get it back?
