Please go up to the top taskbar and click on
Applications - Accessories - Terminal
into the terminal/command window/console type
uname -a
it should output a line telling you about what version of linux you are
running. If there's a i686, or i486 or something like that then you are
runnin 32bit version. If instead it says x86_64 then it's a 64bit
version. I tend to agree with Shane, stick with 32bit Ubuntu :)
