Re: [Question #76964]: photo editing

Question #76964 on Ubuntu changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/76964

    Status: Open => Answered

Tom proposed the following answer:
Well here's an official list but i would avoid any of the KDE
applications because otherwise it might draw in all the KDE desktop as
dependencies which would be large but not a problem unless your hard-
drive space is very limited. On the other hand if you are using Kubuntu
rather than Ubuntu then avoid all the non-KDE apps ;).

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/GraphicsApplications

and here's something i use quite a bit for some things that Gimp doesn't
really do, file-browsing almost like a slide-show

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/F-Spot

in some smaller distros i've used MtPaint which is much like the "Paint"
program in Windows, ie very very basic photo-editing. I'm not
completely clear on exactly what you want to do to the photos at this
point so i hope this helps!

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
