You insert the usb adaptor, assuming everything works. First, you will
be able to see a list of wireless AP from the network manager on the
right hand top corner, then you can click on your AP and put in the
password to connect.

If not, please run the command from applications> accessories> terminal:

lsusb

and paste the output here.
