marcobra (Marco Braida) proposed the following answer:
Close all opened Firefox

Then please open a Terminal from the menu Applications → Accessories →
Terminal and type or copy and paste, one row a time then press enter:

mv  $HOME/.mozilla $HOME/.mozilla_old

Then restart Firefox
