Re: [Question #77285]: samba installation

Question #77285 on gnome-terminal in ubuntu changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+question/77285

    Status: Needs information => Open

aneesh gave more information on the question:
Following are the output of the command

root@VIG-OS-UB:~# sudo apt-get install samba
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package samba is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
However the following packages replace it:
  smbclient samba-common
E: Package samba has no installation candidate
