[Question #77498]: File button click causes Evolution 2.26.1 to shut down operation and disappear from view

The other day I tried to email a friend and, to my horror and exasperation, the program <<Ev olution>> completely shut down and disappeared when I hit the New Msg button. 

The EDIT / Preference button has the same effect.

Why?
