Trenoweth is still having a problem:
Your first suggestion ( sudo update-manager -d ) simply told me that my
system is up-to-date.

You'll probably think I'm a complete dunce but I'm afraid I can't get
your second suggestion to work :-(

The first line ( sudo apt-get install update-manager-core ) was fine.

I had:
update-manager-core is already the newest version.
update-manager-core set to manually installed.

But when I enter the second one ( sudo nano /etc/update-manager/release-
upgrades ), which I tried it more than once despite checking the
spelling, I get the error message:

sudo: nano: command not found

Should I have 'etc' or am I supposed to write something else here
please?


This is my first venture into Linux and I really want to get to grips with it, but so far I'm struggling.......
