actionparsnip proposed the following answer:
The best speed is SLOW as it makes a better image on the physical disk
data layer.

If your CDs are taking an age to burn, try a different application,
there are many to choose from. You could also try different settings
(more than simply burn speed) in the app itself to et better speed.
