https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/yelp/+question/77716

I get the following in response to plugging in the PC Card with the Smart Media card already inserted: (I am unable to see the card)

petertc@petertc-laptop:~$ dmesg >reader.pre
petertc@petertc-laptop:~$ dmesg >reader.post
petertc@petertc-laptop:~$ diff reader.pre reader.post >reader.log
petertc@petertc-laptop:~$ gedit reader.log
