Vihar proposed the following answer:
It should rewrite it in the way to make dual install. Otherwise if not rewrited you'll have only the Windows when booting.
You can install dual booting if you have enough free disk space - about 9 MB for Ubuntu to feel normal.
It is good explained in Ubuntu's site as for beginners.
