Well, of course you need a sound card, but currently, you have 2
soundcards installed, which are the following:

!!PCI Soundcards installed in the system
!!--------------------------------------

00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 02)
04:04.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs SB X-Fi

So remove the Creative Labs SB X-Fi and test sound on the Audio device:
Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 02)

Make sure to connect the headphones/speakers to the right audio port on
the computer's motherboard.
