Re: [Question #77820]: Ubuntu crashes on YouTube video
Question #77820 on Ubuntu changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/77820
Status: Answered => Solved
Mark Wallace confirmed that the question is solved:
O.K., everything seems to be working. I say "seems" because the
problematic video was removed from YouTube by the copyright owner (BBC)
before I could retest. However, other Top Gear episodes play without
incident.
It turns out that I had both adobe-flashplugin and the gnash software
installed. I used Synaptic to remove both sets of components, and then
ran through the Medibuntu instructions. When I went back to YouTube, it
complained that I needed a Flash player, and recommended Adobe, so I
went back to Synaptic and reinstalled adobe-flashplugin. As I already
mentioned, now all seems to be well.
Thanks,
Mark
