I can still remember editing cassette tapes with a pair of scissors and
some sellotape.  I had a special machine which did the job more
elegantly but was often unavailable.  Some people thought it was mad
because the tape wouldn't last so long and yet they would keep their
tapes on the dashboard quietly melting in the sun.  Then we got in-car
cd-players that skimped around like crazy over even minor bumps.  Ahh
yes, the good old days ;)
