Tom proposed the following answer:
HI
Can you run through the Medibuntu worksheet to make sure all your multimedia apps are fine
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu
or are they already ok?
Also try going up to the top taskbar and click on
System - Administration - Synaptic
it asks for your normal user password, not your SuperUser/Root one. Try the "Search" button to look for "flash player". Note that programs and packages that you already have installed on your system have a green splodge beside them and mostly it's worth avoiding uninstalling these but if you have more than one flash-player, ie if you have "gnash" or "swfplayer" or something as well as your adobe one then it's wise to uninstall them, and perhaps to reinstall your adobe one from there in case the dependencies get messed up. I don't think they have any but sometimes some really crucial stuff can get uninstalled along with whatever you needed to uninstall so it's wise to find a way of making sure that stuff stays in and i find this re-install of something similar that i do want to keep is a neat trick even if it's not elegant.

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
