[Question #78216]: cannot connect to comcast with ethernet
New question #78216 on Ubuntu:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/78216
I have recently built a recycled computer and installed it with ubuntu (yay). I have an ethernet cable with a broadband modem. I have comcast as my internet provider. I have read some of the other posts. about calling comcast and getting my modem provisioned, about powering everything down and starting it all back u, and about resetting the modem. So I don't know what to do. After I type this post, I will power down and try that.( I only have one connection for two computers) If you could help me this, that would be great. I can't wait to get off this windows based computer and onto ubuntu!
I am led to believe that with an ethernet connection, I don't have to reconfigure the settings in my computer. Is this true??
