You may need to clear the NV RAM. Keep the power unplugged out for at
least an hour, then try reattatching and powering on. If not then you
may need to remove the CMOS battery as well as the power and disconnect
the monitor (power first so you don't damae your system). And leave it
out for an hour or so. This will drain all power from it as the CMOS
battery keeps the settings while the system is "off", then reattatch
everything. On bootup the CMOS will moan that it is loading default
settings. You should then apply your settings and the system should
boot.

Hibernate is a PITA to get setup in Linux. I've tried a few times and
only had a success because it worked out of the box on an Acer Aspire
One.
