hahaha you have funny question.
Let me guess, you have problem with windows by virus attach on system volume.
To stop virus, you need stop system restore off. click properties on my computer and tick off for system restore then restart your computer press f8 for safe mode. inside safe mode delete everything folder system volume.
Thats all, you will run your windows more better I guess.
For network setup inside ubuntu, i have experience to ensure eth0 and ping is working properly.
use 
$ sudo ifdown eth0
$ sudo ifup eth0
$ ifconfig
I mean that was my story. forgot it, if that one help you nothing.
