Re: [Question #78004]: Can not view any video file by using any video player supported by UBUNTU
Question #78004 on Ubuntu changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/78004
Sam proposed the following answer:
O.T.
No it's not me, it's this outrages Hardy LTS, for me the best distri and motivation ever, until 10/2010 ;-)
Md. Sahadat ullah,
so now, video works fine, but no sound, correct? That would be a success you achieved already.
Please install gnome-alsamixer via Synaptic, this is the GUI (graphical_user_interface) for alsamixer which can be started in a terminal also by typing:
alsamixer
Set at least master, pcm, external amplifier unmuted and then go with
trial&error, means unmute successive other available options and test
your prefered app with it.
In system preferences -> audio
choose automatically or ALSA or your sound card module and press the test buttons to see what works best.
Please keep in mind there is no one_for_all method solution because of a
variety of architectures, soundcards and so on.
