[Question #78478]: installer wipes out any data on partitions for custom mounts under /var during install... bery bad!!!

New question #78478 on Ubuntu:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/78478

If any custom mount points for disks are specified during install time under /var then files on them are deleted.

This has caused a massive loss of data as many organisations have custom sans raid volumes etc that reside under /var.

The installer should not check nor mount nor remove any data present on partitions/discs that are specified under custom mounts points i,e /var/vservs
