actionparsnip proposed the following answer:
you can edit the system / applications menus if you wish using either
alacarte (for gnome) or kmenuedit (kde) i think if you dont have these
installed then the command will not run.

The gui is noce however it does hide useful error messages away wich
makes dignosis of anything even remotely tricky, difficult.
