You downloaded a huge lump of data. Before yuo burned it you should check it using the MD5 hashes.
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuHashes

When you finshed the download, you have no way of knowing thedata you
downloaded is complete, nor correct and you have blindly burned a file
that may or may not be what it should be.

MD5 checks allow you to calculate a hash and compare it to the hash of
the 100% correct file. apt-get and synaptic et does this to every deb
file it downloads. These checks are vital to a smooh install and should
be ran BEFORE burning. Fortunately you have been lucky and the CD test
has pased ok

Can you please MD5 test ISOs if possible in future, and tell 2 friends
about MD5 testing.

If yuo look at bot options, you can disable kernel functionality to get a good boot
