[Question #78686]: updated with update manager and wireless network will not work. hardware drivers is empty.

i have been out of internet range for about a week, and i just recently ran the update manager. afterwards, it prompted a restart and when the computer rebooted, my wireless network was not available.  In fact, none were found.  It is not working right at all...Also, the hardware drivers menu is empty.  Help please...i am stuck wired to this modem!
