[Question #78875]: Ubuntu / Brasero doesn't recognize my CD-R media

I have some Maxell brand CD-R discs that Ubuntu will read and play from.  However, when I insert the same brand of CD-R blank discs that is unformatted "virgin" Maxell CD-R disks Ubuntu says there is no media in the drive.  Brasero then does not recognize the blank media either.
