Re: [Question #78927]: problems in brasero dic burner since upgraded

Question #78927 on Ubuntu changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/78927

James Dotson gave more information on the question:
I upgraded from hardy heron 8.04, then to intrepid ibex 8.10, now jaunty jackalope 9.04. I always used brasero disc burner in both of the earlier versions. I burned both cd and dvds. data, music, dvds. I mostly used the dvd's to make back ups of my originals for my kids to use. I think I may have been able to make two since the upgrade. I have not tried cd burning since the upgrade, I have been trying to get files and all off my hard drive to get more room. I bought some double layer dvds to help with this project and it will not burn to them at all. It seems like it starts then it gives me an error in disc burning box and asked to close. I have saved a few logs of those. One thing more the double layer disc can not be used again. it acts like it has been written to, even though if I put them in a windows box it shows a blank DL disk. I know my liteon light scribe burner will do double layer disc, at least it says DL on it. Well I got tried of wasting those expensive disk and decided to try a 4 gig dvd, It did the same thing. Is it possible my burner went bad on the upgrade form 8.10 to 9.04?
I have attached the log. Sorry if it is to large. I did not know how much of it you would need. I was trying to store a suse live iso and a bunch of tar's on it. I have one question more is there a way to have brasero to just use the amount of space needed and leave the rest free to add files later. I saw that option but it was grayed out and would not let me check it.
Thanks
James

I will put the log in the more info. box next page.
