New question #78999 on gnome-terminal in ubuntu:

   When minimizing a window an icon for that window did at one time appear in the status bar at the bottom of the screen. Now when a window is minimized it just disappears and seemingly can't be recovered. Is there some setting in GNOME that I must make to bring that functionality back. Currently nothing at all appears in that bottom status bar.
