Hi :)

I think Ubuntu will be struggling on this amount of ram as it's even
lower than min.spec.  However installing a much lighter desktop
environment (such as Xfce as used in Xubuntu) can totally solve that.
There are other things about Xubuntu to make it less ram hungry but
that's the one-off biggest hitter for improving things for your machine
i think.  It's worth continuing to follow ActionParsnips line because
the specific issue still needs to be sorted out ;)
