Re: [Question #14462]: how do i change the permission on folders and files if i have the admin password?

Question #14462 on nautilus in ubuntu changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+question/14462

Wrwrwr proposed the following answer:
Press Alt+F2 together -- "Run Application" dialogue should open. Type
"gksu nautilus" and press Enter then type your password and confirm -- a
file manager should open with full access.

Note: Manually changing ownership, permissions or directory structure of
system folders (anything not under /home) is most probably a bad idea --
unless you know what you're doing of course. Knowing how to use the
console/terminal commands is very convenient if you really need to do
some administration stuff (like finding all files/directories/nodes of a
given kind and changing their ownership/permissions for some security or
other reason etc. -- nearly anything can be done using a single line).
